ABOUT DR.MICHELLE

Dr. Michelle Braude is a qualified medical doctor and nutritionist based in London, specialising in sustainable weight management, metabolic health, and long-term wellbeing.
After qualifying in medicine (MBBS) at University College London and completing a BSc in Nutrition at King’s College London, Michelle became increasingly aware of a disconnect between traditional healthcare advice and what people are realistically able to sustain in everyday life. Too often, nutrition guidance is overwhelming, restrictive, or detached from real-world living.
Michelle founded The Food Effect™ to offer a different approach — one that combines medical expertise and nutrition science with simplicity, flexibility, and enjoyment of food. She is also the author of The Food Effect Diet and The Food Effect Diet: Vegan, with her work previously serialised in The Times newspaper, helping bring evidence-based nutrition to a wider audience.
Alongside her work in weight and health optimisation, Michelle specialises in fertility nutrition
She supports women (and couples where relevant) who are trying to conceive naturally or undergoing fertility treatment, including IVF, as well as women preparing for egg freezing. Nutrition plays a significant role in hormonal balance, egg health, metabolic resilience, and overall wellbeing — particularly during what can be a physically and emotionally demanding time.
Michelle also works extensively with women with PCOS, offering nutrition and lifestyle guidance to support symptom management, metabolic health, and sustainable weight loss where appropriate. She also supports clients throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period, including breastfeeding, helping women maintain optimal nutrition, prevent excess weight gain, and protect both maternal and infant health.
Over the past decade, Michelle has worked as a specialist fertility nutritionist within several leading London private fertility clinics, advising both women and men undergoing fertility treatment. This clinical experience informs a calm, evidence-based, and deeply practical approach to care. To learn more about fertility-focused nutrition support, click here.
Whether it be for weight loss, general health optimisation or any aspect of reproductive health - Michelle's philosophy is simple: when nutrition is grounded in science and designed for real life, it becomes sustainable, enjoyable, and effective.

ABOUT THE FOOD EFFECT™
The Food Effect™ is built on a simple belief:
Effective nutrition should be evidence-based, flexible, and enjoyable.
This is what ensures the approach is sustainable long-term.
The Food Effect Method is grounded in three core principles:

SCIENCE
All recommendations are rooted in medical and nutritional science — not trends or quick fixes. Each plan is personalised, evidence-based, and designed to support long-term health.

CHOICE
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. The Food Effect™ prioritises flexibility and real-world living, allowing clients to make informed choices that fit their lifestyle.

TASTE
Food should be satisfying and enjoyable. The Food Effect™ embraces nourishing, delicious meals that support health without restriction or deprivation.
